In the South East corner I have a window and also a protruding corner sending char chi. In the Destructive cycle metal destroys wood. My question is: Is it appropriate to place (a fake jade or bamboo) plant and a water feature (such as a fountain, a water image, bue, black colours on curtains)? Do not over-think feng shui. Many many people have a window in a wood sector and they lead happy fulfilling lives. They may have electric cords, metal objects, etc and suffer no ill effects. Some even have kitchens filled with metal pots and pans in the SE and they are happy and healthy.
