This story appeared in the Chinese night newspaper, dated 10/June/2011.
This man suddenly felt great discomfort in his body while working.A supervisor at the delivery section of a bread-making factory,he hooked a finger, opened his mouth, and apparently tried to reach an inner part of his throat with his hooked finger. Was he trying to induce vomiting?
But while doing so,he passed out.He was rushed to the hospital where he died.
He was 43.
According to the newspaper account,he adores fishing(angling).Tuas and Punggol were among his fishing haunts. It seems that he would go angling each time leisure came his way.
The medical verdict:death due to heart failure.
A relative who spoke to the reporter said he had always been in good health.
When he hooked his finger to reach for his throat, the finger looked like a fishing hook. With his mouth wide open,he was struggling and in agony.Looks a lot like one of the many fish he had caught, isn't it?
Of course, not all avid anglers end up like him.The configuration of the natal chart, the prevailing luck phase, the prevailing year, fengshui, good deeds, how long he had fished, the quantity of his total catch, etc all come into contributory play.
Look at a fish that has just been hauled out of water and deposited on dry ground..It flips and flops. Its gill covers open and shuts frantically, panting.
It is gripped with terror, suddenly finding itself in a waterless environs. It is gasping for breath, and in great agony.....
It is fighting for its very life.
What comes to mind when you read this?
The condition of asthma in children, perhaps?

So in actual fact, he was not choking when he put his finger to his throat?

That is what I think. And he wasn't that healthy if he had a heart attack - he just didn't know he was ill.

Hi Lady moon,

How are you? I haven't been posting for a long time

Sometimes stories like this makes you wonder whether you should change to a vegetarian diet.

Yeah,this story is quite strange.
If it was a case of choking, his colleagues would have noticed that he was chewing something while working. You can't choke with nothing in your mouth. They would then have tried to look into his mouth while he lay unconscious, and may find some bits of food. But the report did not mention anything about he eating then,or the doctors finding food scraps in his mouth or throat.
If it was a sudden heart attack, normally one would clutch one's chest and bend over in pain, not open one's mouth and put a finger in it.
Strange indeed.......................
