Hello Team,

I am planning to open up a Shop and have seen several places but like this one the most.
I have attached the Picture of the rough layout of the same that i have made.

My Question is that there is a fully grown (but healthy) Tree opposite to the main entry of the shop, as there is a park opposite the lane of the shop. It is about 6 feet from my Shop entry to the boundary wall of the park.

Is that Bad Feng Shui for my New Business that i am planning to open up.

Please suggest.

The way you drew the diagram the tree is not directly cutting the entry to the shop so no problem.

Not much I can suggest knowing so little about the site.

Remember that how you arrange the internal qi flow is almost as important as the external forms. Of course it should all look pleasant, but there ought to be a suitably sized ming tang as one enters (an area that feels like a welcoming space, where entering qi can pool).

what other details can i provide for you about the site for your valuable suggestions?

The success of your shop is serious business.

No one can adequately advise you on-line. It's just too important to have some amateur (like me!) who can't really audit the site give advice.

If you can find a good reputable practitioner in your area (which isn't easy) hire one

Having a FS Master look at the site would help you a lot. But before that, go to the wofs.com homepage, scroll down the left side and look under the heading "schools" (of Feng Shui) and click on "Landscape." There are 2 pages of short articles about arranging rooms, businesses, entry ways, for positive Feng Shui. Read these and it will give you a bigger understanding of some of the Feng Shui principles and assist you to understand how to get the most from your business site. If you work with a master, it will give you a better understanding of what he is doing & of their advice.

A gift shop could open from 8 am-6pm, as long the shadow of the tree didn't reach your main door during those hours.

If your main door is facing East and there is no shadow of the tree, than your Money Qi is safe.

my gift shop is open from 11am-9pm. the door is 200 degrees south facing which is the entrance to the shop. the shadow of the tree reaches the main door and is there till 2pm. although the tree is in front of my shop at a distance of about 12 feet,its shadow also reaches my neighbor's entrance. i have placed a bagua mirror to reflect the tree at a height of about 11 feet. what other remedies can u suggest me? is the tree in front of the shop bad or am i just worried about nothing..please suggest

Forget about the trees, they are your friends.
Look at the successful business districts of the richest cities of the world. Tree lined boulevards. Do you think that their shadows never fall across the door of those multi-million Euro businesses during the day?

If the district has been successful, and the past businesses in your location have not had a history of failure, then that is a good beginning.
For feng shui, consider the external qi flow (is this a very busy street with traffic rushing by or a more modest street where pedestrians stroll? Where is the nearest plaza or square? Where does the street come from and where does it go? etc) Consider whether the door is the appropriate size for the shop. Consider how you will lay out the interior of the shop to channel and capture qi.
My only misgiving is that it appears there are stairs to the door of the shop.

Explain that more, please.

A Ba Kua mirror is the last thing I would recommend for a House/shop, as long the owner feels comfortable with it as I don't mind.

You had already made that choice, so why not? Sometimes it is good to be focus and care for your important investment.


The next time you could put happy music near the entrance, not to loud of course. Music attracts more customers and gives attentions for your shop. Music creates sound and it is Yang, it will balance the Yin-shadow of the tree.

If after 6 pm and it is dark outside, a Light will attracts customers too, near the entrance. Presentations are very important, make it Yang and put happy items in front of the shop to create a Yang-feeling for customers. All that Yang/Light and Music will balance any Yin-form.

I have a good feeling of your shop, and wish you a Healthy and Wealthy investment.

These trees are not a problem, but a blessing. Please remove the bagua mirror. These mirrors are only to used as a last resort, and this is not the time to use any kind of a mirror. These trees are in the park and will attract people to relax and enjoy the day. The trees and park will bring people to your street and into your store. You are making a problem where there is none.
If you want to do something, place large pots of flowers on either side of the door into your store. Healthy plants bring good energy into a business and deflect shar chi (bad energy).
Relax and enjoy your business.
