seems everyone - from car designers to the lovelorn- is turning to the
Chinese art of feng shui. WENDY TUOHY finds out why Buddhas, lucky
money and fish are so fashionable.
It is not an inexpensive interest, with home consultations varying
from about $100 an hour (Austin's rate) to hundreds for the first
consultation and extra for special needs. Business consultations are
reported to cost up to $5,000.
It is just perfect here in Sydney. We have had whales in the
harbour; the sun is shining after long awaited, glorious rain that had
the decency to come on a week day and night and refresh everything. The
days are getting longer, the plants are starting to bud and I am
getting that spring-cleaning feeling .....

everyone. It's been a while between articles and I have been busy with
home, family and adjusting to winter, which has well and truly settled
in here in Sydney. I recently drove to Townsville, an 8 hour per day x
3 days drive from Sydney and back again (a long drive in anyone's
books) to visit my eldest daughter and create positive Feng Shui
energy.
Now you have the elements in place it is time to learn about their
cycles. They have three cycles, 1. Productive cycle. 2. Controlling
cycle. 3. Destructive cycle.
Thank you to all those wonderful folks out there in Feng Shui world
who send me encouraging words and requests for more. Please know that
what I present here is a result of excellent tuition from Lillian Too
and that in comparison to this magnificent, wise being I am but a rank
beginner.
Well what a lot has happened since my last article. My 50th
birthday was on the 11th September and is certainly one I will never
forget. Let us all pray for peace and sanity during these trying times
and hold open our hearts to all humans who were affected by the events
of that day, regardless of creed, colour or race.
Apologies for the delay in getting this final instalment to print,
the end of 2001 was quite eventful and life and death took over for a
while. Here in NSW people are battling horrific bush fires, the worst
for at least 20 odd years and the smoke, destruction and resultant
bravery has been amazing.
With a curriculum vitae as impressive as Lillian Too's,
it is hardly surprising that you would expect her to walk into
Crown Palladium in her power suit, with a Personal Assistant
and laptop in tow. But the lecture of the day is certainly not
Management 101 nor "Investing Your Millions."
