i have very recently opened my gift shop.i have tried to incorporate feng shui to the best of my knowledge.i have used red color in my visiting cards and the board of the shop.i have a buddha on my work table facing out. i have placed lucky cats near the entrance. i couldn't find fu dogs for the entrance but i have placed a pair of elephants on either side of the entrance.i have also placed the 4 celestial animals in their respective corners.
-what is the best way to place a 3 legged frog? some articles say it should face outside while others say it should face inside and should be hidden? this is very confusing. please suggest
-can you give me some tips to increase my sales and get the cash register ringing because many people walk in but don't purchase anything. please suggest.
Your shop just open and you need not too worry about it. All you need to do is promote and do more advertising. This will increase your sales. Open business must have Three Factors: Heaven, Human and Earth. You have fulfill Heaven and Earth factors, which left Human factors which is you, yourself. So you need to work hard to make it go on.
Zia, if customers walk in but don't buy then this is a retail problem not a feng shui problem. You don't have the goods they want.Or you are not attracting the clients who want the goods you offer. Little statues all over the shop will not change that (unless they are shopping for little three legged toad statues!).
Give more thought to your business plan and less to cures and magic if you want to succeed.
Don't despair. The situation may not be nearly as bad as you think.
You can always ask your customer, what are they looking for? Then from this simple question, you actually doing a small survey to yourself. Dare to ask them and keep it records, when sometime later you thing most of the customers are looking for that kind of gift, then is YOUR choice, whether wanna to sell in the shop or not.
Begining a business is always hard because we worry about many things and if we are doing what is correct and best for the business.
You can see what other stores like your are selling and then look carefull at what the customers are buying and how much the customers are willing to spend on these items.
Relax about the Feng Shui - you have done all you can with this - and concentrate on promoting your business. Maybe you should have fewer Feng Shui items and concentrate on displays that feature your products so the customers can see them clearly. Look at other stores that are selling and see how they display their items. Show the items in a way that makes the customers want to buy them.
Follow JackyLee's advice and ask the customers what they want.
