June was an exciting month for our family because Baby Jack's not a baby anymore! He celebrated his 3rd birthday on the 18th and was ultra excited about the whole thing. His new phrase is "Jack Jack's a big boy, Jack's three!" While there are tons of differing views on whether to celebrate or not to celebrate birthdays, generally for children and young people before their coming-of-age 21st, it brings great chi to announce each year with a bang. So we decided to throw Jack a "proper" birthday this year. A tip for all busy moms out there who want the job done right, check out Megakidz at Midvalley - they are the premier party planners for children's parties in town. They handled everything from décor, hosting, games and prizes, and everyone had an absolute blast at Jack's do, even the grown-ups!

As we pass the halfway mark of the year, many of you have written to share good luck predictions coming true for you, while others have also written for advice on how to overcome bad luck woes. Well, the good news is that luck does ebb and flow like the tide, and knowing how to suppress bad luck times and magnify good times is what makes feng shui such a great living skill to know. And one major reason why we love putting this magazine together - we have so much information within these pages focused exactly on helping you do just that!

As we go to print, Lillian Too's Feng Shui Extravaganza 2008 tickets are just going on sale. Those who make this regular annual date with Lillian better get your early bird tickets soon! The upcoming year's show will feature some important new elements. Those close to Lillian know what an accomplished practitioner she is in harnessing the power of the mind, and in January 2008, alongside explaining the predictive charts and astrological readings for the next year, she will also share secrets on thinking big as you do your feng shui. Yes, she is making 2008 the THINK BIG year! Let her share powerful ways of engaging the mind to magnify the positive results of practising feng shui so you get BIG results every time. This is the secret of her success over the past forty years! By the way, you will also be seeing a much-slimmed-down Lillian – the result of her keep fit and get slim regimen of diet and exercise – a program she talks about in this issue in her LIFE WITH LILLIAN column.

We also carry a feature on Looking for the Dragon's Lair - the ideal site for a home. In our increasingly scientific age where everything is reduced to a mathematical formula, emphasis has been placed on the formula kind of feng shui - particularly the Eight Mansions and Flying Star methods which involve measuring dimensions and directions, and which stress the need to be accurate and precise. Equal weight must however be given to the more subjective assessment of the physical landscape. Lillian Too addresses the importance of landscape school feng shui in her Fine Points column, while our architectural feature focuses on urban planning and how feng shui principles can play a crucial role in helping design high-rise buildings in modern cities.

Feng shui is as much about people as it is about homes and buildings, and our story on Hollywood's party pack Paris, Britney and Lindsay highlight how things can go from very good to very bad just like that. All three suffered poor astrological predictions last or this year and now are being forced to let their bad times play out. We also track the fascinating success story of Li Ka Shing, Asia's richest man. Read about the feng shui of his flagship building in Hong Kong and about his two sons Richard and Victor.

On new products, we are excited by Lalique's oriental symbols of good fortune and by World Of Feng Shui's exciting new Liu Li collection. These are coloured crystals with a matte finish that are currently so vogue simply because they blnd so well in classy, modern homes.

Finally, look out for all our "HOW TO" features – from reading the life line on your palm to coping with ghosts and keeping them at bay. As we enter the third quarter of the year, we hope the rains subside and any threat of bird flu is successfully subdued. Remember to use your metal cures to suppress the illness star in the middle of your home…

Happy holidays!
