I know that 2011 is almost gone, but I am trying to learn and grasp the little tail of the year.
black color font transcribed from internet Flying Star Feng Shui 2011 cures; red font is my comments and questions.

In 2011 yearly chart:

#1 White Star of 2011 - NORTHEAST - brings thriumph and success.... It is the water element bringing victory and you can activate this auspicious star by placing a water feature
I understand that #1 star is a water element. It makes sense to add more water feature, but what I don't understand is that the conflicts between this yearly stars and how they work with a house's sectors of orientation associating with the 5 elements. For example, NE at a house is supposed to be earth element without any TIME period. Water does not do anything to earth. In another word, based on the orientation of a house, water feature wouldn't work for NE. However, if we add water feature according to flying star for 2011, it would work.. How does a house orientation work with the yearly stars?

#2 Illness Star of 2011 – SOUTH - brings sickness and illness
South is my 8 Mansions prosperity though. If S is not properly cured, Would I get sick or lose prosperity? Which method do I look into, flying star or 8 house? I don't think it is working like this way: when I choose the Flying Star method, and then I get sick; when I choose 8 Mansions, then I get poor?? I mean how do they WORK together; which one do I go by in this #2 at S of 2011 example?

#3 Hostile Star - NORTH - brings hostility and lawsuits...It is the wood element and its bad energy gets strengthened by the water element of the North sector. Use fire feature to weaken it
I understand it, but I am confused with the house orientation as the North being WATER. I thought that it was auspicious to hang a big painting with water scene on the wall of the North section of my house. Now by reading the yearly stars, should I take the water painting down and put something of firel?

#4 Romance Star of 2011- SOUTHWEST - brings love and scholastic luck
A toilet, shower stall, tub, and vanities are here at SW in my house. Even though #4 is a good star here, is the water element of the master bath at my house draining the good luck away, or it is just not affecting my husband and me? Or worse, the good luck becomes bad??? If so, are the crystals and quartz for the enhancing the good luck in this area to be used as cures for it? Or what other cures?

#5 Yellow Misfortune Star - EAST - brings misfortune and bad luck. The yellow #5 star can be cured by a Six-Rod Wind Chime, Five Element Pagoda, Trinity Pagoda and the Luck Transforming Fan are all effective Feng Shui cures.
#5 is earth. From what I understood about the 5 elements (although so little), using fire element to drain the earth or using wood to destroy it would be logical. However, why using these cures that are all made of metal? Of course, I know that this information is given for the marketing purpose, but I want to know if they are also valid as far as curing goes???

#7 Violent Star - CENTER - brings theft, burglary and violence..... symbols with water element that will weaken the metal energy of this Burglary Star.
Why just weakening the metal but not destroy it by using fire feature? Is destroying this violent star quicker and worry-free?

For yearly stars, do I identify the number corresponding its ELEMENT and emphasize the element, if it is a good star? For instance, I should add more metal feature or earth features to the area #6 METAL at SE of 2011?

Also, what does the period 8 chart work with the yearly chart? Let's say that my house's period 8 chart is 8 as the ruling star, 3 is the water, and 4 is the mountain at the center of the house. What do these center stars work with 7 of yearly star and 7 of the monthly star of 2011 at the center of the chart???

Thanks
