Hello. I am interested in studying to become an artist. I have some small pieces of art by some of the artists whose artwork I admire the most. I'm wondering if I should put these pieces of art in my Fu Wei (personal development) direction to help me with my study luck, or if the pieces of art should go in the Northwest since it could also represent mentors/Heaven Men (also, the Northwest is my personal Sheng Chi [success] direction). I also wonder if it would be best to place photographs of the artists themslves in the Northwest since they are in a sence my mentors?

Fu Wei is more for childhood development and if you are an adult now I will think you should go for sheng chi for better successful achievement.

I've never heard anything in feng shui about placing inspirational pictures in these sectors... unless you intend to work facing those pictures and they serve to keep you aimed in the right direction.

In any case, you might benefit more from analyzing which of your positive sectors has strength and which lack it. Face the one that works. The four good sectors are not all useful for everyone. Facing a useless one won't harm you, but it won't offer much help.
Altho some people with particularly vibrant sheng qi cannot comfortably sleep facing that direction
