This issue we put the spotlight on famed Chinese architect I.M Pei, who many consider a Father of Modern Architecture. His portfolio is a veritable showcase of feng shui on a macro scale, and even as he adopts a westernized working style, he never fails to incorporate his Chinese roots and ideologies. After all, where he comes from, feng shui is a cornerstone of every aspect of living. We bring you a photographic essay of his life’s splendid work, and point out the feng shui appendages as well, so turn to page 8 for a visual feast.
A more recent building that radically changes the landscape of Singapore is the Marina Bay Sands casino, which has set many feng shui sifus and sinseis tongues a-wagging. The building is definitely iconic, resembling a gigantic ship held aloft by three giant towers. At night, all lit up, it bears more than a passing resemblance to the infamous scene from Titanic. Can this be bad or good feng shui? We discuss more inside.
Lillian Too’s Fine Points on the Double 7 sounds another warning about the change of period to that of Period 8. She explains the significance of this affliction, while showing you what to do about it. We also bring you the real life story of Mirtala Bazan, who faced the robbery-bringing Double 7 head-on in a quiet country home in South Texas. Her tale is both terrifying and remarkable at the same time. From the UK, inspirational writer Carmel Greenwood joins us with her take on beating breast cancer. Instead of letting her new condition overcome her, this larger-than-life lady has turned it into a blessing and a wake-up call, demonstrating the vital importance of having the right attitude and using the power of the mind.
From Hollywood, we feature some of our favourite celebs, sharing their insightful thoughts - in their own words – including Angelina Jolie, the world’s most famous unmarried Mum, who despite recent interviews on quitting the world of movie-making to focus on her kids and other worldly causes, remind us in SALT (her latest movie) that she is no lightweight in the acting stakes, and will be sorely missed should she ever retire. Our Vedic astrologer Jyoti Arora analyzes the chart of Hrithik Roshan, Bollywood heartthrob and star of hit show Dhoom 2; fans can catch him next in Kites.
For the fashion conscious, we have expanded our fashion pages with tips and wise ways to improve your dress sense. It’s easy to look good AND be lucky if you know how. And you don’t need your own house to enjoy the benefits of good personal feng shui! We also point out some taboos to avoid when planning your wardrobe. For instance, beware the asymmetrical look!
Meanwhile, Lillian Too has been busy preparing for her upcoming Feng Shui Extravaganza Roadshow, which kick-starts later this year - December 19th, 2010 - in the paradise island of Tahiti, followed by Kuala Lumpur on January 9th, 2011 and Singapore on Jan, 16th 2011, and then on to Las Vegas, USA over the 29th-30th January 2011 weekend. There are lots of variants of Early Bird Specials to enjoy (see details inside) so start planning now to make a date with this incredibly energetic and entertaining lady!
Have a great read!
