Ok I have a silly but really important question.

My friend and I just realized today that we've been calculating Bazi following Lillian's book.

However, while I am using the lunar date of birth to input into the calculator, he's been using the solar date of birth. So 1 of us have been doing it wrong.

Please tell me which on of us is right!

Don't worry, there are no silly question and every small doubt is always a good question.

In bazi or 4 Pillars we use solar date of birth and in purple star astrology we use lunar date of birth.

While Aggie is away, I could continue with your Chart. I don’t have time to read your post so I don’t know how far your Bazi knowledge is. I will start from the scratch and see where I land.


The season of Birth refers to your parents; every child needs support from their parents: 5 aspects of life include Heritage Wealth. This is the reason why the season of birth is important to calculate somebody’s DM strength. After your parents pillar, the next important pillar is your House of Spouse. Without a Family is no life or without the Children you will feel lonely at old age, those pillars will come later.

Your Season of Birth is Ren Zi (Yang Water Rat), Ren and Geng Zi is the most stable Water season or Pillar. It says already about the stability of your Parents Pillar.

Your DM is Gui (Yin Water) and support by that stable season of birth. It is already 80% of your stability of support.

Your Chen (Hour) and Zi (Month) form a strong Water combination.

I already conclude your DM is strong.


According to the DM strength Calculation (RapaNui) of the elements you could also see that there are exhausted elements in your main chart. That’s good news; it means there are lots of activities in your main Chart.

Now The Way of The Tao is to achieve Balance in your life.

Support (Resources and Companion) is strong; you need to support the other three aspects of Life: Output, Influence and Wealth.

The most people will focus on the Wealth aspect, it is very common sense. Money is almost everything nowadays.

As I said before: the Way of the Tao: Balance.

When Wealth is very strong it will deplete the all other aspects and could turn your Balance Chart upside down, like Output and Influence.

Decoding Bazi takes time to have a clear picture; you cannot catch up 20 years in a few words.


From 11 yo – 41 years old you are still in a Metal-season. Metal season will support your Water-element. Your Water elements are already very strong and no need to support anymore.


The big chance will be after the Metal season.

As you could see in the transition of the Metal into Fire season, the Gang different (Delta) is -3 (minus 3) into -66 (minus 66). This is beautiful how these numbers correlate with the transition of season.
