Welcome to our Spring issue, which is turning out to be a successful people's issue. We seem to see so much talent around these days; and it inspires us, encouraging us with an impetus to go after some amazing stories. Researching the "success secrets" of the contemporary heroes of our time makes us believe that anything and everything is possible these days; that the world is becoming an increasingly level playing field. We feature three strong, powerful women from three generations, each celebrated for a different talent and famous in a different field.
We feature Coco Chanel
, and hope readers will be as surprised as we were by how much she was inspired by powerful Oriental symbols. We take a look at her home at 31 Rue Cambon which shows how this legendary lady of fashion surrounded herself with feng shui protective energy and plenty of good luck symbols. Then there's the incomparable Madonna
. Fifty years in the business and still going strong. This Queen of Pop continues to mesmerize despite strong competition from the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicky Minaj. It is interesting that Madonna's Superbowl performance this year was singlehandedly as spectacular as the multi-artistes performance of the 54th Grammys. Madonna is the best example of Ren luck – luck generated by herself and her own hard work. But wait... neither her latest single nor her new single has done well – some have even described it as her first flop! She is a DOG and this year is astrologically a difficult year for her; nevertheless she is chugging along full steam ahead, launching her new album and planning her new tour. We shall follow her progress with interest to see how she defeats the forecasts for her sign.
Probably the most awesome of all however is Sheryl Sandberg
, FACEBOOK's "secret weapon", headhunted by its erstwhile founder Mark Zuckerberg
from Google in 2008! She is getting set to be Silicon Valley's first self-made female Internet Billionaire as Facebook prepares to go for a public listing. We were so awed by this lady we looked at her Paht Chee and of course it's all systems go for this commercially successful lady – she is after all a Rooster and this year is an incredibly brilliant year for all born under this sign!
It's AWARDS season and we have been following all of it on television. After watching the 54th GRAMMYS we felt we just had to also talk about Adele
. After all, she dominated this year's MUSIC AWARDS picking up all six awards she was nominated for, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Pop Single of the Year. The mood during the Grammys was dimmed by the premature passing of Whitney Houston
- someone whose songs have inspired generations - but her music lives on, with Jennifer Hudson singing a heart-wrenching tribute to her during the Grammy Awards show.
The Dragon Year so far, has not been easy. This is something that seems typical of every Dragon Year. What the Chinese believe is that because the Dragon is so powerful, if one does not have the karma to live through a Dragon Year, it is difficult for them. They fall sick more easily, get into trouble, discover tough truths and generally see things happening that basically "transform" their lives, or their outlook... very trying indeed and if it has happened to you, maybe write and share with us... but the positive side of a Dragon Year is that truly astounding success is not just possible but also highly probable. But only the strong will prevail. Therefore, strong willpower and a positive mindset are the best ways to get the most from this year. Of course don't forget your amulets, talismans and good luck enhancers to ensure the mighty Dragon is on your side.
This issue we also bring you the Master Square of 81
, which takes you deeper into Flying Star feng shui. We also introduce you to the three-legged bird, a closely guarded secret of the old Masters. Lillian Too shares some amazing rituals for moving house, which many should find useful and there is also a feature on getting your bedroom feng shui correct.
But I have left our most exciting, thrilling news for last, something we are ALL gearing up for with huge excitement and expectation! Lillian Too is bringing Feng Shui to LATIN AMERICA!
