I may be too superstitious now, but I rather be superstitious than do something wrong.
The previous owner of the restaurant my parent-in-laws just bought has left this gold colored plastic tree with boat shaped money, urns, and coins. I really don't like the "look." Plus, it has collected all the dust, which I can never clean it well. I want to throw it into the garbage, yet I am afraid of "throwing away" the wealth, for there are gold boat shaped money (yuan-bao) and urns. This kind of good luck decoration can be found everywhere in Chinese cultural gift shops. Of course, they don't have any power or anything, yet just because of the symbols, I don't dare to throw it away.
This item don't belong to you, it belong to the previous owner so you are not throwing your wealth away. If you find it eyesore then I will suggest that you place the item in a paper bag and inside place a red packet with a dollar or two. Place it under a tree and let the cleaner or road sweeper to clear it for you. Don't look for me if you are fine for littering lol
