The World Of Feng Shui by Chat Alejandro

E-mail Print
Lillian Too, founder of the World of Feng Shui boutique, obtained knowledge from the great masters all over the East, spaning over 30 years. Retired from a lucrative career in the banking and corporate world at the age of 45, Lillian is living proof that feng shui works.

She says she owes her incredible luck and many successes in her career and business activities to feng shui which she has been applying to every aspect of her life. Now, Lillian is one of the world’s leading exponents of feng shui.

Lillian graduated with an MBA from the Harvard Business School in the U.S.A. She embarked on a corporate career and became the first woman in Asia to be appointed CEO of a bank.

In Malaysia where she hails from, Lillian is considered by Malaysian Business, the country’s leading business magazine, as “something of a legend in the corporate circles being the first woman there to become managing director of a public listed company.”

Vogue magazine describes her as “someone people listen to.” She married her daughter Jennifer manages WOFS.com.

Lillian Too is also the world’s number one selling writer on feng shui. She has authored over 50 bestselling books on the subject, which have been translated into 28 languages.

Her books sell millions of copies worldwide, making feng shui globally known and recognized.

She is also the sounder and chairman of WOFS.com Sdn. Bhd. Which operates and franchises World of Feng Shui boutiques world wide, publishes the Feng Shui World magazine and conducts courses and certification programs on feng shui.

Lillian describes Feng Shui as an ancient science whose origin comes from the Chines manner of regarding the universe where everything categorically belongs to five basic elements.

These elements are implied with positive (yin) or negative (yang) energy, called chi.

The Chinese have been applying feng shui for thousands of years to correct afflictions and enhance good energy in their living spaces and surroundings, as well as bring them good luck and wealth.

The word feng shui means wind and water. It is also the science of choosing a living surrounding where the elements and the energies are harmoniously balanced, thus bringing good life to those who inhabit that surrounding.

Likewise, it is an art or skill obtained from experience and common sense – the skill of arranging one’s living and work space to further strengthen this important balance and harmony.

Lillian says that mysticism somehow envelops the practice of feng shui.

She explains that one needs to accept the basic theories about the universe which may seem strange in the context of modern day perceptions of the way the world works.

Descriptions of landscapes and environments are hidden in symbolic representation. Metaphors adhere to classical and mythical Chinese references to animals, elements and the intangible forces of yin and yang energles are reflected in the ancient roots of this science.

A Philippine branch of the World of Feng Shui boutique was recently opened at groundfloor of The Podium, ADB Ave, in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Marites Allen, president and CEO of World of Feng Shui Philippines, Inc., says that the shop offers arts and crafts; auspicious jacquerware and sailing ships; authentic feng shui merchandise; books, candles and lamps; CD’s videos and audio cassettes; crystals, Chinese fine arts, fountains, water features, tools, fashion and accessories; greeting cards, health and beauty care products; incenses and semiprecious stones, soft furnishings, antiques, I-Ching coins and wealth artifacts from all over Asia.

The boutique is the very first in the Philippines franchised by the World of Feng Shui Co, Inc. which has over 30 boutiques in the U.S.A. Asia and Europe.

The World of Feng Shui boutique also offers consultations and other services related to health, love, harmony, career, wealth, knowledge, home and office designs, wherever and whenever feng shui can be of help. Below are some feng shui pointers.

In order to let wealth and prosperity into your life, you must first cleanse yourself and your surroundings. In doing so, you let go of your “excess baggage” (i.e. bad feelings, negative thoughts, ill intentions). Likewise, declutter your work and/or living area of junk. Put away useless things by discarding, recycling or giving them away.

After cleansing ring a bell or singing bowl and put a small bowl of rock salt on the de-cluttered area.

To invite wealth into your home, office or business area, de-clutter, cleanse and purify the southeast portion or corner of the room, office or sotre space. The southeast is the sector of wealth, prosperity and abundance, according to Lillian Too. With the help of a compass, map out this portion of the southeast.

The Chinese have been applying feng shui for thousands of years to correct afflictions and enhance good energy in their living spaces and surroundings, as well as bring them good luck and wealth.

Lillian Too shares some tips and pointers to attract prosperity and improve your fortune:

  • To invite prosperity, attach 2 bells to the doorknob of the front door facing outside. On the inside, attach 3 Chinese coins tied with red string. You can also tape 3 Chinese coins tied with red string under your doormat. This will bring fortune to your premises.
  • Get some figurines of three legged toads with a coin in the mouth and place them in discreet areas of your office. Place them low, on the floor, under a table or behind a cabinet. You can have as many as you like but 9 are recommended.
  • Get several wealth ships laden with "jewel and ingots." These wealth ships represent many different sources of income entering your premises. Never display empty ships. Make sure they are sailing in, not out.
  • Always sit with a solid wall behind you to provide strong support. Hang a picture of a mountain or have a tortoise behind you to symbolize solid support for your business. Hang a string of Nine Emperor Coins behind you to provide solid financial support for your business.
  • The southeast governs wealth luck, and is of the wood element. To activate the growth energy of the wood elements, place leafy green plants here. Display gem trees with gold coins tied to their branches to signify the growth of money luck.
  • Three Chinese coins activated with red cord bring auspicious feng shui. You should have them everywhere since they attract money luck wherever they are placed. Keep them in your wallet. Attach them to all your important tiles to increase your business. Remember to energize your telephone , fax machine and personal computer. Do the same under your floor rags, tables and chairs.
  • If you have the desire to win or be popular, put a tribute horse in the south sector of your home/office. In ancient China, gifts and spoils of war were often given to emperors and powerful court officials on a tribute horse.
If you are in a competitive situation at work, in business or a competitive sport, this is one of the best energizers for victory luck. Horses and Lights, particularly red, are suitable for thissector. Plants are also very good. As wood produces fire, it will also help in energizing the luck.
  • The pagoda, like the pyramid of Egypt, is most effective in warding off any bad energy and pernicious forces in your surroundings. It is also a powerful symbol of protection against illness. Place this pagoda at the north sector of your office to protect your investments and guard against treachery and deceit from business competitors, Alternatively, put it on your desk or display it on a cabinet near you.
